The British Mortgage and Protection Senate aims to provide a unique platform for the key people in the UK mortgage and protection intermediary channels and related services to come together to build a sustainable future for our market. We believe the Senate truly comes into its own as a forum of special value when the market faces particular stresses and challenges – the current situation involving our exit from the EU being a case in point.
The potential impact of Brexit on the mortgage and protection markets will be addressed, and delegates are invited to share their thoughts and ideas for overcoming/making the most of the challenges and opportunities this great change will bring.
But this year’s agenda is not narrowly focused on this one issue – we will cover a range of pertinent topics, including the changing role of technology in our markets, developments in the industry’s approach to all of life lending, and the perennial issue of power! Where does/should the balance between providers and distributors lie? What is best for the consumer and, by extension, the industry?
Presentation from the day are as follows:
Consumer expectation meets housing reality
Mike Jones, managing director, intermediaries and specialist brands, Lloyds Banking Group
Prospects for the housing market
Richard Donnell, director of research, Hometrack
