News - Equity release
Mortgage Solutions | 12 Dec 2011 | 12:15
Aviva has introducing enhanced LTVs on its Lifestyle Lump Sum Max lifetime mortgage, following a successful trial.
The enhanced LTV option will enable customers with conditions affecting their health to borrow more of the equity in their property than they would normally be offered.
Alternatively, customers may be able to use enhanced LTVs to guarantee a greater percentage of their property using Aviva's inheritance guarantee, than if they borrowed the same amount using standard LTVs.
Brokers will be able to establish clients' eligibility through a health and lifestyle questionnaire.
Darren Dicks, head of at retirement at Aviva, said: "Customers wanting to release equity from their homes who suffer from medical conditions or who have lifestyle factors that affect their health will benefit greatly from this most recent development in Aviva's equity release offering.
"Following a successful trial, we're now rolling enhanced LTVs out for all eligible lifetime mortgage customers. Equity release is becoming an increasingly useful option for people approaching retirement to consider and is a key element of the range of retirement solutions we offer."
