Europe is proving as popular as ever for UK residents opting to move abroad.
Over the last 12 months there has been some 5,775 house moves to Europe.
Germany tops the table as destination of choice, attracting some 3,388 house moves in the last 12 months. France comes a far second with 1,427 house moves, with Spain trailing by almost half that on 755 moves.
Italy is the least popular destination with just 205 house moves.
The research, conducted over 12 UK regions, is the first of its kind and was compiled by the University of Greenwich and carried out as part of the Woolwich’s annual cost of moving survey.
The Woolwich cost of moving survey is due out later this month.
