Platform Home Loans

Platform Home Loans (PHL), the non-conforming lender, is expanding its sales and marketing division with an internal promotion and the appointment of two new members of the team.

Richard Beardshaw has been promoted to regional sales manager for the southern region, where he will manage the packaged business sales team in the south. Beardshaw began his career at Barclays Bank and came to PHL from Scottish Life, where he was a life and pensions consultant.

Mark Hayman has been appointed regional sales manager for the southern region, where his responsibilities will include management of the corporate accounts sales team and an overall responsibility for corporate accounts in the southern region.

Joining from Scottish Life Mortgages, Richard Daibell has been appointed as business development manager for the north-east. His responsibilities include developing PHL’s corporate accounts in the north-east of England.

Southern Pacific Mortgage

Southern Pacific Mortgage Limited (SPML), the sub-prime lender, has appointed Jeff Baird as its customer services manager.

Baird will be running a rapidly expanding department handling existing customer and third-party enquiries not related to payment collection. This includes insurance, redemptions, third-party references, statements and further lending.

Baird joins SPML from Preferred Mortgages, where he was a customer services manager for the past three and a half years. He has also worked for Legal & General, The Mortgage Corporation and Building Society.

Mortgage Express

David Connolly has taken the position of product development manager at Mortgage Express, the specialist lending arm of the Bradford and Bingley Group.

Connolly joins Mortgage Express from Woolwich where he held the position of product development manager in the mortgage product development team. His responsibilities at Mortgage Express will include the mainstream, flexible and 100% product ranges. Connolly’s 16-years’ experience includes a stint at Barclays, where he worked on the development and marketing of the bank’s flexible mortgage and the equity release mortgage.

Brokers

Charcol

Charcol has taken on Candice Hodgson as marketing director. She will be responsible for developing Charcol’s marketing strategy across the integrated off and online business.

Hodgson has joined the company from Interactive Investor International (iii) where she was marketing communications director responsible for the iii brand and for communications concerning the company’s stock market flotation.

Mark Howe, Charcol group marketing director, said: ‘Candice brings an essential set of skills and experience to Charcol as we look to build on the outstanding marketing and business success of our multi-channel business model.’
