Sir Howard Davies, chairman of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), has sold his buy-to-let property. The fact he divulged this information during an informal discussion on the state of the buy-to-let market is seen as an indication of his views. At the last CML conference, John Tiner, director of the FSA, said the Authority considered buy-to-let as a risky venture: ‘It is important lenders take account of potential affordability problems for the investor.’
