36% of householders fear not being able to meet their mortgage repayments in the next four months, with fears greatest in the South East, according to the CPP Group. The bank card insurer, who regularly survey 2000 people, claims this figure, up 5% on April this year, is an indication that people are taking on more than they can afford. The age group most concerned about mortgage repayments is between 35 and 44, where 50% fearing a default on their payments. Regionally, 42% of those in the South East, where average house price is £157,414, expressed a fear, compared to just 30% in April.
