The National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS), the Government-backed voluntary accreditation scheme for letting and man-agement agents in the private rental sector, has opened its membership to a wider audience in a bid to increase its credibility.
Until now membership has been restricted to those belonging to one of the main professional bodies. Geoff Rooker, the Government housing minister, said: ‘NALS is an important initiative for raising standards of letting agents in the private rented sector. To date it has only been open to members of professional bodies. Opening the scheme up is a welcome step.’
