Following a positive reaction from brokers to Mortgage Solutions’ Regulation Response campaign, an official submission will now be made to the Financial Services Authority (FSA) before the 11 Novem- ber deadline, writes Ben Marquand.
The campaign will see all the questions and problems concerning CP146 raised by the brokers who attended the recent Mortgage Events and the readers of Mortgage Solutions, collated into a single submission and presented to the FSA.
The FSA has welcomed the submission and reiterated its call for a response from all affected parties, no matter how small.
Issues contained within the Regulation Response will include potential problems over not being allowed to ‘cold call’ borrowers, and whether brokers will be legally liable if a client falls into arrears.
Key industry figures have been calling for mortgage brokers to send in their reaction to CP146 for some time, but time is now running out.
