Bristol & West Mortgages has appointed Brian Everett as its new head of sales.

Everett will be in charge of the Bristol & West Mortgages sales division, where he will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies.

Everett said: ‘I am eager to ensure the whole of sales fulfils its potential by exploiting the existing skills and experience as well as introducing new methods and ideas. I have a lot to learn about how Bristol & West Mortgages wins mortgage business, but I also have a lot to give.’

Intelligent Finance

Grenville Turner has been appointed as chief executive of Intelligent Finance, replacing Jim Spowart. Turner is currently head of intermediary sales at HBOS retail.

Prior to this, he worked as head of intermediary sales and was responsible for both the direction and management of intermediary sales and the valuation and surveying operation.

SPML

Southern Pacific Mortgage Limited (SPML) has appointed Gavin Hunt to the post of compliance manager. In addition to general aspects of compliance, Hunt will be managing the transition from voluntary to statutory regulation by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in 2004.

Before taking on this role, Hunt was senior compliance officer with the Mortgage Code Compliance Board (MCCB) for two years. He has 12 years’ experience in the industry including management roles with an internet-based mortgage broker and such lenders as Bristol & West and Norwich & Peterborough Building Society.

In addition, Gemma Reece has been appointed to a newly-created position of head of legal and compliance at SPML. She is now responsible for all aspects of compliance and regulation, in particular overseeing the FSA authorisation process, res-ponding to consultation papers from the Treasury, the Department of Trade and Industry and the EU.
