Platform has announced the appointment of a new business development manager, Samantha Ford, who will be responsible for its South West sales force. Ford joins Platform from Abbey National where she spent five years as a sales consultant dealing with mortgage intermediaries. She also held a position as a mortgage underwriter at the lender. Her new duties will include managing and developing new and existing intermediary relationships as well as selling and managing protection and mortgage products with IFAs.

Jeremy Duncombe, head of sales, at Platform, commented: ‘With our one comprehensive range we have experienced an increase in demand for our market leading products and services. This has led us to expand our sales force with committed individuals such as Samantha, to help us strengthen the business further at this very exciting stage in Platform’s development.’

Sub-prime mortgage lender, igroup, has appointed of Andy Punch as director of servicing. Punch, who has 15 years management experience in the consumer finance industry, joins igroup after a two-year term as operating director of Home Finance plc. In his new role, he will assume responsibility for the management of all secured loans and mortgages serviced by igroup.

Commenting on his new appointment, Peter Brennan, chief operating officer at igroup, said: ‘We are delighted to have someone of Andy’s calibre playing such a vital role in the team. His breadth of management and business experience with a number of lenders will be an invaluable addition to the senior management team.’
