Paul Protheroe, chief executive of Pioneer Friendly Society, has been announced as the new vice president of the Association of Friendly Societies. In his new role, Protheroe – a strong believer in mutuality – will focus on promoting the Association”s support of the development of the mutual sector in the UK. The society has 60 members with £15 billion worth of funds under management.
