AMI: Wanted, two advisers to join Board
Broker trade body the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) is canvassing for two adviser practitioner members to join the trade body's board.

AMI said: “These should be individuals within member firms or networks who spend more than 75% of their working week advising on mortgages.”

AMI said it would welcome enquiries from any practitioner who would like to take up one of these roles.

Other changes to the AMI structure include the appointment of Pat Bunton as chairman of the Board after four years as deputy chairman, following Legal & General’s Stephen Smiths’ (pictured) decision to step back as deputy.

AMI said: “Prior to the election Stephen decided to take a step back after the significant work in bringing AMI to full “independence”, which would not have happened without his leadership, guidance and drive. Stephen will remain an active member of the AMI Board.”

The current chairman, Lord Deben, will become President attend Board meetings and assist in representational activity.

The Rt Hon Lord Deben, said: “A vibrant housing market is essential to economic recovery and AMI has a strong role to play in building confidence and ensuring consumers have access to funding.”
