It was reported last month that Paterson had handed in his resignation at Assurant Intermediary ahead of a switch to a different firm, but the former Enterprise Group marketing director will take up a position at Source from April following the end of his notice period.
Paterson (pictured) told Mortgage Solutions that the firm was already looking to expand its broker base.
“I’ve said for a number of years that the Source is one of the best kept secrets in the market. At present Source has a loyal following of brokers who have used the service for years.
“The mortgage broker market itself isn’t huge but out of 12,000 brokers I would say that the Source has only ever worked with around a quarter of them.
“My job will be to leverage that and grow the business.
“The business is also much more focused on networks and building a stronger management team is part of that process. Source wants to go for as much of the market as possible.
“The Source has 10 underwriters with another two joining later this year so we are able to offer a seamless, easy journey for brokers.”
