The range includes mortgages for everyday and ‘special’ situations. One first-time buyer product up to 95% loan-to value at 5.99% is available to borrowers within certain counties with a history of paying rent for twelve months.
Another is a self-employed product up to 80% loan-to-value which requires one year’s accounts and a projection.
Saffron Building Society head of mortgages Peter Izard said: “Our ‘Everyday Situations’ range includes deals designed for borrowers seeking straightforward and competitively priced owner occupied or buy-to-let mortgages and our ‘Special Situations’ range caters for borrowers with distinct needs: be they professionals, the self-employed, self-builders or property investors.
“Within each range borrowers are able to select optional features such as interest only, second homes and mortgages for expatriates returning to the UK.
“Complete FS brokers have the assurance of knowing that we’ll take into consideration borrower’s individual circumstances, apply common sense and provide a personal and reliable service.”
The range is also distributed through the Legal and General Mortgage Club.
Complete FS director Tony Salentino said: “Saffron Building Society still values human underwriting rather than the slavish reliance on credit scoring exhibited by other lenders.
“It is good to see another lender returning to the distributor/packager model because they understand the value in having an experienced business like us pre-vetting enquiries which means they only receive quality applications which minimises delays, speeding up processing and reducing costs.”
