Santander for Intermediaries to replace AFI
Santander is to replace Abbey for Intermediaries with a new brand from Wednesday 17 July.

The lender has made the decision to bring all its intermediary products under the same brand and will launch Santander for Intermediaries next week.

Santander said that this would bring the broker channel closer to its main brand and follows its decision to begin paying brokers for current account referrals last month.

It added that its individual mortgage products would continue to be offered to customers under the Abbey brand.

The range will sit alongside Cater Allen Private Bank and Santander General Insurance under the Santander for Intermediaries banner.

Miguel Sard, managing director of Santander for Intermediaries, said that the changes reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to the intermediary channel.

“Our vision at Santander for Intermediaries is to be the intermediary partner of choice, by offering intermediaries and their clients simple and clear products that provide ongoing value,” he said.

“Santander has been a consistent supporter of the intermediary market and by bringing all our intermediary product brands together under Santander for Intermediaries, we believe we can work even more closely with our intermediary partners to write quality business and meet customers’ needs.

“The intermediary channel is very important to Santander and we will continue to support the intermediary market with great products and service as we deepen our relationships with intermediaries and their clients.”
