FCA warns over payday trio unlawfully targeting consumers
The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a trio of warnings about unauthorised payday loan firms and clone companies targeting cash-strapped borrowers in January.

PayInSlices, which may be linked to another firm called iCash UK, and WageAnyDay are both believed to be operating without consumer credit permissions and authorisations.

KwikCash is a clone firm which is using the permissions of another firm to trick consumers into thinking it is a legitimate company.

The PayInSlices web addresses which the FCA reported were in use are no longer operational but the firm can still be accessed by searching for the company name on the internet. The web address which is currently being used is http://guaranteemoneyonline.com/pay-in-slices-ltd-uk/www-payinslices-ltd-com/.

WageAnyDay has been advertising its services registered at 12 Finch Street, London, N12 1DN with support@wageanyday.co.uk as its email contact. The website address on the regulator’s warning, www.wageanyday.co.uk, states the web hosting has expired.

KwikCash Loans is giving out the telephone number of 0203 2890773 and the email kwikcashloan@outlook.com for consumers to contact it. It is using the permissions of a firm called Money Gap Group Limited, 28-32 Wellington Road, London, NW8 9SP and is found http://moneygapgroup.com. This FCA authorised firm that fraudsters are claiming to work for has no association with the clone firm.

The FCA has advised anyone considering using a firm for financial services to check the Financial Services Register and Consumer Credit Permission Register.

If a firm does not appear on the register but claims it does, consumers and brokers should contact its helpline on 0800 111 6768.
