Irish fraudster to be extradited from Brazil
A former solicitor accused of defrauding €80m from at least ten financial institutions is to be extradited to Ireland from Brazil to face allegations.

Michael Lynn is believed to be transferred from Recife to Dublin within the next few weeks, The Sunday Business Post reported.

Lynn failed to attend a hearing at Dublin’s High Court in 2007. He arrived in Brazil in 2012 where he spent some time working in the property market, according to RTE News. He was arrested by Brazilian federal police the following year.

A ruling of extradition was made in December 2014, but was delayed over Lynn’s request to seek clarification of the decision.

A judge has dismissed his final request, and a written version of his decision will now be published. The case will then be passed to Brazil’s justice ministry.
