Teachers Building Society appoints interim chief executive
Dean Fensome has been appointed as interim chief executive of Teachers Building Society.

Fensome will continue his current role as finance director for the society having first joined in May 2015. He brings to the role his experience at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Direct Line Group.

The appointment follows the departure of James Bawa, who was chief executive of Teachers Building Society for 14 years, and will be appointed CEO of Monmouthsire Building Society in the new year.

Fensome said: “I’m confident that in this interim role my relationship with the Society and deep understanding of the industry will help Teachers Building Society continue on a path of steady growth until the new CEO is appointed in due course.”

Earlier this week the Society launched a 4.29% three-year fixed rate shared-ownership mortgage for borrowers in England and Wales who work in the education profession.
