Vitality to employ nurses to improve protection processing rates
Protection provider Vitality is eyeing a January launch for an enhancement to its service which will see it employ nurses to work with intermediaries to improve the processing times of applications.

Speaking on a panel of protection and mortgage experts at Sesame’s annual conference, Andy Philo (pictured), director, franchise distribution at Vitality and British Mortgage Award winner, said this was next phase of evolution for the firm.

“We’ve all had clients where bloods have been spoiled or medicals can’t be done at a convenient time for clients or at their place of work,” said Philo. “So we are going to take a new step in that approach by taking on around 18 to 20 nurses.”

The nurses will be employed by Vitality and be based in the field, mobilised by a fleet of Mini Coopers.

Philo said the medical professionals will work with intermediaries and their clients to push the ‘straight-through’ processing rates even higher.
