Family Building Society appoints BDM for Outer London
Family Building Society has recruited Roger Churaman (pictured) as business development manager.

He will cover the stretch of Outer London boroughs running anti-clockwise from Enfield around to Bromley. In addition to mortgage advisers and brokers, he will also look after John Charcol’s central London practice.

Churaman joins from Lloyds Banking Group where he was a property specialist and relationship manager. Previously, he worked as a business development manager for Intelligent Finance and Bank of Scotland.

Cammy Amaira, head of intermediary sales at Family Building Society, said: “We now have a strong team of BDMs covering the country and a significant and growing percentage of mortgage brokers nationwide. Our BDMs convey a simple message: we are committed to lending to sectors poorly served by the mainstream and high street players, namely those borrowers coming into and in retirement, FTBs, expats and BTL landlords.”

Churaman added: “I was attracted to Family’s growth plans and its singular approach to lending. As a niche player it is progressive and innovative. We know that we can solve some of the lending conundrums that face brokers with non-standard applications. That is a very appealing proposition to a BDM.”

Family Building Society is the UK’s twelfth largest building society, with over 50,000 members and £1.3bn of assets.
