Appointment round-up: Bluestone Mortgages appoints Wilson
Specialist lender Bluestone Mortgages has appointed Simon Wilson key account manager, covering the southern UK.

Wilson is responsible for managing Bluestone’s distribution partner relations and key accounts within southern areas of the UK and brings over 15 years of financial services experience.

Wilson joins from Kent Reliance, a specialist lender and retail savings group operating under OneSavings Bank. Previously, Wilson worked at Nationwide Building Society and was with Santander for five years.

The appointment follows Bluestone’s partnership with Online Mortgage Advisor (OMA), announced exclusively in Mortgage Solutions, which offers an online eligibility check via an integrated Application Program Interface (API).

Steve Seal, director of sales and distribution, Bluestone Mortgages, said: “Simon’s experience, success in past roles and connections within the buy to let sector will be crucial to Bluestone moving forward.”

Meanwhile, Newbury Building Society appointed Piers Williamson as a non-executive to its Board of Directors from 1 January 2018.

Williamson is a specialist in the UK, US and European financial markets, treasury risk management and risk governance.

He has been the chief executive of The Housing Finance Corporation (THFC) – a mutual lender to UK Housing Associations – for the past 14 years, and has worked extensively with the government and with government agencies.

Williamson said: “Newbury Building Society is an important lender in the affordable housing arena and I am eager that my experience in that field should be used to help the society strengthen its position in that market even further.”
