Octane appoints senior BDM
Bridging lender Octane Capital has appointed Liam Lawlor as senior business development manager (BDM).

Lawlor joins from Octopus Property where he worked for almost two years as business development manager. Prior to that he was at Metro Bank as a senior BDM for Central London.

In May, Octane Capital launched without a product sheet, instead opting to structure loans on a highly bespoke basis and price according to risk.

Mark Posniak, managing director, Octane Capital, said: “Liam is a highly experienced BDM with fantastic technical knowledge and no end of contacts. There’s no doubt he will play a key role in helping us achieve the aggressive growth targets we have set ourselves. The fact that he has worked with many of the senior team here in the past will also serve him well and enable him to hit the ground running.”

In an interview with Specialist Lending Solutions earlier this year, Octane founder Jonathan Samuels spoke of the importance of building the right team, stating: “What’s vital is that we all have each other’s back. Everyone here is perfectly able to work on their own but is always on hand and keen to provide input and experience when asked. It’s a great balance of team players and entrepreneurial self-starters”.
