David Barral has worked in financial services for 35 years and joins the master broker from Aviva where he was chief executive officer of UK and Ireland Life Insurance until June 2015.
Barral said he was excited to take on the new role at a time when the company was strongly positioned for further growth and called it “a highly respected business in the intermediary market”.
In May, Vantage Finance announced that it had received investment from equity firm Chiltern Capital to grow the business. Following this, Vantage managing director Lucy Hodge said now is the perfect time to bring Barral into the business.
“David’s industry knowledge and experience is invaluable, and we’re delighted that he’s chosen to join Vantage as we embark on the next phase of our growth strategy,” she said.
Barral is also a non-executive director of LV, non-executive chairman of Virgin Wines, a former chairman of the ABI Retirement and Savings Committee and a contributor to independent education charity Speakers for Schools.
