Why are the awards not happening in person?

Due to Covid-19 and the social distancing restrictions we do not believe it will be possible to run the event safely for all our guests, sponsors and colleagues.

Are the awards still taking place on 28^th October?

Yes, the online awards ceremony will be streamed at 4pm on the 28^th October.

How will the awards be shown?

We will open registrations for the awards in September and everyone who registers will be sent a link to watch the awards at 4pm on 28^th October.

Can anyone register to watch?

No, viewing will be limited to those within the mortgage industry.

Will winners be told they have won before the awards are streamed?

No, winners will be announced during the streaming at 4pm on 28^th October.

Will I need to download any software to watch the awards?

No, the awards will be streamed through a web browser so you will not need to have specialist software downloaded. You will need an internet connection to watch the event.

Will there be any entertainment?

Yes, British Comedy duo Flo & Joan will be performing a few songs for the event.

Will winners still receive trophies?

Yes, the trophies will be sent out to all winners after the event.

Will there still be a social media element to the event?

Yes, we want people to continue to engage with the event hashtag #BSLA2020. Tweets will be shown on the awards streaming platform during the awards presentation and prizes for best tweets will be available.

When I’m watching the awards will my camera be on and people be able to see me?

No, you will not be visible to other viewers, only comments & social media posts you make will be visible.

If I win, am I expected to make a live acceptance speech?

No, there will be no winner speeches.
