The Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) has announced plans to launch Bankforce e-mortgage, an online mortgage and application processing system, early next year.

The service will enable both brokers and direct customers to access an online mortgage application and processing system, from the initial enquiry through to an approval in principle, as well as queries throughout the life of the mortgage, via the internet.

Quentin Grofvernor, e-commerce manager at YBS, said: “The initial indication to the customer will be a real time decision, which will be a major advantage to IFAs, who will be able to carry out the application knowing they are not wasting their time.”

YBS believes the transactional website, which will allow its two million customers to access their accounts, will benefit them and also allow it to expand its geographical area.
