A survey of visitors to the Association of Residential Letting Agents’ (ARLA) website has revealed 84% of potential and existing tenants used the facility to confirm an agent’s membership. Over half of potential and existing landlords visited the website for the same reason.

Over a third of visitors are investors or potential investors looking for information about buy to let, while 40% are looking for ARLA member letting agents in their area.

Adrian Turner, of ARLA, said: ‘These results are proof of the need for information, education and reassurance in the private rental sector and that ARLA’s efforts are paying off.’
