Olympian Financial
Sub-prime packager, Olympian Financial, has made two new appointments, Gary Ellis as head of underwriting and Paul Warne as business development manager. Warne will be responsible for forging relationships with new introducers and developing joint sales and marketing initiatives. Previously, Warne was an independent financial advisor. The appointment of Warne continues Olympian Financial’s expansion plans and the development of its direct to consumer arm. It is seeking to establish a telesales team and has recently taken over the second floor of its offices in Gants Hill, Essex.
Ellis joins from igroup where he was an underwriter and team leader. ‘I enjoyed a close relationship with Olympian Financial when I worked at igroup and I am very much looking forward to helping make Olympian Financial an established name in the industry,’ said Ellis.
The Finance Centre
Stuart Astbury has joined the senior management team of sub-prime packager, The Finance Centre (TFC), as head of IT. Astbury will have responsibility for further development of TFC’s computer system, which drives it’s underwriting, mortgage process-ing and telephone systems. He will also be looking to roll out many of the features of TFC’s IT system as a white label offering to key intermediary accounts during 2003. Astbury joins from Ethel Austin, a UK retailer in the North West, where he had responsibility for the IT needs of the company’s 250 stores nationwide. The appointment of Astbury is the second senior appointment to be announced by TFC in the last month. During October, the firm announced Dawn Paget had been recruited as operations manager.
