The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is warning consumers that although it has published its policy on relaxing time bars for mortgage endowment complaints, some customers may leave it too late to complain.

Customers have three years from receipt of a ‘red letter’ warning of a shortfall in their policy. However, the FSA notes that ‘hundreds of thousands’ of people were sent red letters in 2000 and have not yet complained.
