Software provider The Exchange is targeting the mortgage intermediary market as it moves towards regulation, and has launched an updated version of its Exweb IFA portal, Exweb Gold.

The majority of the portal’s 18,000 users are in the life and pensions sector but Charlie Musson, spokesman for The Exchange, said as regulation came into focus, more mortgage brokers would look to have software that helped standardise the processes they used.

The software, for which advisers will be charged a monthly fee, will be available in the fourth quarter of the year to tie in with the approaching regulatory deadline. Pilots are underway with a number of brokers.

Sue Summers, managing director at The Exchange, said: ‘Exweb Gold will deliver a step change in the range of e-commerce services available to intermediaries. We are investing significantly to deliver these services to IFAs with major enhancements to the electronic interaction possible between IFAs and providers.’
