The Bradford & Bingley Group (B&B) is aiming to provide 25% of all Home Information Packs, when they come into force, through its new operation, SecureMove.

SecureMove combines all of the surveying, conveyancing and residential property asset management capabilities currently available through B&B subsidiaries HomeConnect, BBG Surveyors, Corporate Property Services and BBG Commercial.

Peter Bruning, chairman of SecureMove Services said: ‘It is a new company that we have launched to give brand definition and focus to the opportunities that we believe exist for a company of our size to give solutions to the market.’

Bruning said there would be a large investment to connect the four operations electronically, with laptops being given to all commercial and residential surveyors and systems being implemented to improve panel management for both residential and commercial lenders. Bruning said the contacts it already had in place with the majority of UK lenders through its four member companies would help facilitate the volume it wanted to generate.

He added: ‘We feel it is exactly what both the property and mortgage industries are looking for to help them successfully take on board the changes occuring within the industry. The reaction we have received from both industries has been encouraging. This is only the beginning. We see expansion potential in all products and services we currently offer.’
