Skipton Building Society and Opus Mortgages have significantly upgraded their web presence.

Skipton has launched a broker specific uk.The new site contains a mortgage calculator and will enable mortgage advisers to source products and examine lending criteria, as well as downloading mortgage application forms.

Paul Darwin, head of intermediary lending at Skipton, said: ‘The site is easy to navigate and will give brokers up to date information about the Society’s current intermediary products and services, 24/7.’

In a similar move, Glasgow-based specialist lender Opus Mortgages’ website now includes a section on what, according to Opus, are the fairest and most transparent deals for borrowers.

The site also illustrates a number of products on the site with real life case studies and contains links to a number of lenders and industry bodies.

Lockhart Bruce, sales and marketing director at Opus Mortgages, said: ‘We have developed a website that is more than just window dressing. We want it to be a working tool for the modern mortgage professional. That is why we have done as much as we can to bring a lot of the statistical information to life by using real-life examples of how products can be used.’Opus is currently developing online application and case tracking facilities which will be added to the site.
