World Cup fan home free
The trespass charges against the mortgage adviser World Cup fan who walked into the England team’s dressing room after their match with Algeria have been dropped.

According to the BBC, Pavlos Joseph, a mortgage adviser from South London, was made to pay a 750 rand (£65) admission of guilt fine by Cape Town Magistrates’ Court.

Joseph has maintained he was only looking for the toilet when he found his way into the dressing room on 18 June. He was not in court to hear the decision.

Joseph’s defence lawyer, Craig Webster, said an agreement had been reached to withdraw the charge of being in a restricted area without the necessary accreditation.

However, Sunday Mirror journalist Simon Wright still stands accused of sheltering Joseph from the South African police, which he denies. The hearing of his case has been delayed until 7 July.
