Paul Clampin has been appointed as Paragon’s new director of mortgage underwriting.
Clampin was most recently a country manager for Chartis Insurance, where he worked with mortgage lenders on risk mitigation.
Prior to this, he was head of new lending for Mortgage Trust. He said: “The strong performance of Paragon’s existing loan book highlights the Group’s underwriting pedigree and I am looking forward to helping the Group continue its strategy of prudent and risk-averse lending.”
John Heron, Paragon Group director of mortgages, said: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Paul to the Group. He is well known in the UK mortgage market and joins us with a strong background in mortgage underwriting and origination.”
