Alastair Curren of B-Assured Financial was one of four brokers given a lifetime ban by the FSA after committing mortgage fraud.
Curren was fined £100,000 after he was found to have submitted fraudulent mortgage applications and failed to declare income to HMRC and comply with specific requirements imposed on him by the FSA intended to combat risk to customers posed were addressed.
According to the Sunday Mail, his office in Main Street in Barrhead, was still open last week and when Curren was asked whether or not he was still in business he allegedly said ‘no’.
Curren is expected to have made around £40,000 from mortgage selling and other financial services.
