Lost CII exam papers found
The CII has recovered a batch of exam scripts lost by a courier, meaning 35 candidates will not have to re-sit the paper.

Its CF5 module papers, part of the Certificate in Financial Planning, were lost after being signed across to the courier, following an exam sitting in London last month.

However, after initially offering free re-sits and revision sessions for the candidates, the papers were found by the courier today, and the majority of those affected have already been informed.

David Ross, director of communications at the CII, said: “Candidates should have their results by the end of the week, so they are about two weeks later than they would have been.

“Clearly we are disappointed and concerned it has been stressful for people but the good news is we will mark their original papers so they won’t have to do resits.”

He added the incident was the first of its kind for the organisation, although it would not necessarily mean an end to its relationship with the courier.

“There is probably something for us to understand how this happened and it’s something we’re talking to the courier about as we want reassurances this won’t happen again.

“Against the volume of examinations we oversee, we don’t want to have a kneejerk reaction until we understand how this problem arose.”
