Labour MP Jack Dromey is set to replace Alison Seabeck as shadow housing minister as Seabeck moves to shadow defence minister.
In the latest move after last Friday’s re-shuffle with four new appointments to the shadow cabinet, Dromey, the husband of Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman, MP for Erdington, Birmingham, is set to take on the housing brief.
He has been a fierce critic of the government’s planning reforms arguing that the framework does not support affordable housing.
