TME 2011: Winners of £10k-worth of free advertising announced
Two mortgage brokers attending The Mortgage Event in Bristol and Reading had the added bonus of walking away with £10,000-worth of free advertising last week.

As part of the event, mortgage intermediaries were in with a chance of winning the advertising with Mortgage Solutions’ leading sister consumer title Your Mortgage.

To qualify, brokers simply had to attend one of The Mortgage Event dates this December and be present at the draw held at the end of each half-day event in order to be eligible to win.

Mark Inglis, compliance officer at Equilibrium, was named the winner in Bristol, and Steve Coleman, senior director of Harrow-based The Mortgage and Financial Advice Shop, went away with the prize in Reading.

Inglis said: “Today has been really informative and I’m really happy to win. I wasn’t expecting it all and had forgotten about the prize draw. My colleagues and I came for the sessions and CPD, hence the slight jaw drop when my name was called.”

He added: “This is the first Mortgage Event we have been to and we have got a lot from it. We were more investment based before, having left the mortgage sector in 2005, but we came back into the industry at the end of last year because so many brokers had left the sector and a huge part of our client base was asking for advice.”

Coleman, in attendance at Reading with his brother and business partner Alex, said: “We’ve never won anything like this before. It’s got to help us and 2012 has suddenly got a lot better.”

He added: “The Mortgage Event is very good and is time well spent. It’s intensive, with a lot of good speakers in a short space of time, making it worth coming out for half a day for.”

The Mortgage Event will next travel to Manchester and Durham on 14 and 15 December respectively, offering two more brokers the chance to win £10,000-worth of free advertising in Your Mortgage.
