E.surv launches PropertyCare inspection service for homeowners
E.surv has launched a property inspection service aimed at helping elderly or vulnerable homeowners and landlords.

PropertyCare+ checks the “fabric” of the building, highlights any repairs that need immediate attention, lists areas that may cause future issues and offers guideline repair costs.

Landlords can also use PropertyCare+ to develop cyclical maintenance plans. The service enables them to check the condition of a property they may not have visited for a while, rather than relying on tenants or managing agents to notify them of defects.

The cost of PropertyCare+ starts at £199 for a two-bedroom property and increases to £269 for a five-bedroom property.

Richard Sexton, director of e.surv said: “PropertyCare+ should be particularly useful for the elderly and less physically able who might not get up into the attic as often as they once did and are therefore less likely to notice problems with the roof.

“As PropertyCare+ lays out the likely costs of making repairs proactively, it should help elderly homeowners with their budgeting, an important consideration given the majority of elderly people live off a fixed income. Hopefully it will also stop people getting ripped off by unscrupulous tradesmen.”

Sexton added that PropertyCare+ will also be available to homeowners who did not take out a private survey when buying their home.
