Barclays launches ‘scan and send’ system for brokers
Barclays has launched a ‘scan and send’ system allowing mortgage brokers to electronically submit documents.

The system is intended to speed up the mortgage application process, making it quicker for brokers to submit supporting documentation for all residential mortgage applications.

It will also give brokers an electronic audit trail, and at the same time will make the documents easier for Barclays to retrieve.

Barclays said it will give brokers the added confidence that documents are automatically and securely routed with the mortgage application directly to their named underwriter.

David Finlay (pictured), managing director for intermediaries at Barclays, said: “Continuing to improve brokers’ experience with Barclays is our top priority and having listened to their feedback we believe that our investment in the new scan and send technology will improve the quality of applications and make the application process even smoother for brokers and their clients.

“It will also make communication easier between brokers and their named, dedicated underwriters.”

The lender said the system will be rolled out to all registered brokers over the next five weeks, and brokers will receive all usage information by email.
