A report by BDRC Continental asked intermediaries about the quality of BDMs during the first quarter of 2012, with 70% voting for managers at Nationwide as the best in the industry.
The building society was also the most recommended mainstream lender, with intermediaries also voting its services as ‘most likely to be recommended for first time buyers’.
Elsewhere, The Mortgage Works remains the best recommended specialist mortgage lender.
Ian Andrew, managing director of intermediary sales at Nationwide, commented: “Intermediaries are important to us and we take their feedback very seriously.
“These results tell us that Nationwide’s BDMs are the most active in the intermediary market and rated as best in class against our peer group. We are thrilled with the level of support our BDMs provide to brokers and by positive impact it is having.
“However, it doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels. We will continue to strive for excellence in our products, services and relationships with intermediaries going forward.”
