Equity Release Council begins equity release lobbying drive
The Equity Release Council began ramping up its lobbying plans at its first policy-makers event yesterday at a launch held in the House of Commons, sponsored by Eric Ollerenshaw MP.

The event kicks off the organisation’s public affairs engagement programme targeting Parliamentarians and members of the House of Lords on social care and the lack of pension funding in the UK.

Andrea Rozario, director general of The Council, welcomed attendees before Lord German presented on key policy areas affecting equity release, followed by presentations from Baroness Wheatcroft, Nigel Waterson (Chairman of The Council) and Chris Pond (Chairman of the Ship Standards Board).

Andrea Rozario, director general of The Equity Release Council, said: “This will build on the work that we have done in the past and help us to achieve our ultimate goal of getting a Government department to ‘take ownership’ of equity release.”
