The Association of Bridging Professionals (AOBP) is to take a roadshow around England raising awareness of bridging among intermediaries.

The roadshow will travel the country in mid-September, presenting sessions in Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Southampton.

The organisation said that most bridging deals currently emanated from the Greater London area, and that lenders had highlighted these five locations as areas as potential growth markets.

Sessions will include presentations from lenders and speeches by committee members, with brokers encouraged to discuss issues in the bridging market with the industry leaders.

The roadshows are open to all members of the association as well as brokers who are keen to learn more about short term finance. Registration opens later this week.

Jonathan Newman, AOBP chairman, said: “For a while there has been a suggestion that the bridging industry is too London-centric. Whilst many of the most active participants are based in or around London, the AOBP network is spread far and wide.

“We recognise the time and cost expense to those members who are not based in London in having to travel – and so we have launched this initiative to include and involve non-London brokers, members and non-members, in our next phase of events.”

Roadshow schedule:
Newcastle – Monday 17 September 2012
Manchester – Tuesday 18 September 2012
Birmingham – Wednesday 19 September 2012
Bristol – Thursday 20 September 2012
Southampton – Friday 21 September 2012
