An IFA who was sacked after an allegation that she drunkenly abused a client has won her two-year unfair dismissal battle with her former employer and been handed £25,000 compensation.

The Employment Tribunal Service confirmed Amanda Daughters had won her case against Aqua Financial Solutions at West Croydon Employment Tribunal.

The judgment said her claim against her former employer was “well founded”.

Daughters, who was a founder and former managing director of Aqua Financial Solutions, had admitted to abusing a client in January 2010 at the original hearing and her claim of unfair dismissal was rejected.

However, Daughters was granted leave to appeal and the case was referred back to the Employment Tribunal for a final decision.

The tribunal ruled in her favour in June this year.

Daughter claimed the incident, for which she apologised, was used to oust her from the company after relations with her former boss, Carolyn Bennett, had broken down.
