FSA slaps broker with Prohibition Order over ‘lack of honesty and integrity’
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has prohibited mortgage adviser Anthony Gott from performing any regulated activity carried on by an authorised person, due to his "lack of honesty and integrity."

In its Final Notice, the FSA revealed that on 28 September 2011, Gott, from Goole in East Yorkshire, was convicted of three counts of obtaining a money transfer by deception.

He was sentenced on 10 February 2012 to 24 months imprisonment, suspended for 24 months with a curfew requirement.

The FSA ruled that Gott was “not a fit and proper person” to perform any functions as his conduct demonstrated “a lack of honesty and integrity.”

Gott’s Prohibition Order took effect from 22 October 2012. He has not referred the matter to the Upper Tribunal.

Earlier today, the FSA cancelled the Part IV permission of Kenneth James McKenzie, trading as Mortgage & Finance Solutions, for failure to communicate effectively with the regulator.
