Ex-Premier League ace sets up buy-to-let property academy
Former Premier League footballer Robbie Fowler has launched a property academy for buy-to-let investors to learn the tricks of the trade.

The former Liverpool star built a property portfolio across the North West during his long playing career and is thought to have over 80 properties which he rents out.

Fowler’s portfolio largely consists of terraced houses and the former striker is said to be worth £28m.

The size of his property empire led Manchester City fans to sing ‘we all live in a Robbie Fowler house’ to the tune of The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine during his time at the club.

The Robbie Fowler Property Academy Workshop will have six sessions in London next week with a further session to take place in Hayes later this month.

Fowler said: “Off the pitch one of my biggest successes has come from investing in property.

“When I first started I didn’t know much about the property world but I had some good advice from people who did.

“It was by putting that advice into practice that made my business go from strength to strength.

“It doesn’t matter what state the market’s in, there is always money to be made as long as you get the right education.”

The 37-year-old retired from football in 2012 after spells in Australia and Thailand. Fowler played 26 times for England and also counts Leeds United and Cardiff City amongst his former clubs.

Property clubs for buy-to-let investors rose in popularity prior to the 2008 property crash, however, many investors struggled with voids and unable to remortgage, lost millions when the credit crunch hit.
