David Finlay leaves Barclays
David Finlay, managing director of the intermediary channel for retail lending at Barclays, has resigned his position and stepped down as chairman of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association.

A spokesperson for Barclays said: “David has been instrumental in shaping Barclays’ position within the mortgage broker industry. We wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.”

Finlay (pictured) will be replaced by Jackie Uhi, currently head of the direct mortgage distribution division, with immediate effect.

Charles Haresnape, managing director of residential mortgages at Aldermore Bank and the current deputy chairman of IMLA, will take on the chairmanship on an interim basis until a ballot of the membership is undertaken on 20 March.

Finlay said: “I am very sorry to be leaving IMLA but the organisation is in very good shape and with an excellent team of directors in place.

“The organisation has been successful in terms of membership growth, profile and impact and though I am finishing my two year term early I believe it will go from strength to strength.

Haresnape said: “We are very sorry to see David step down. He has been a great chairman since his appointment in 2012 and had a real impact on the organisation. We wish him well for the future.”
