FCA to give keynote speech at Manchester expo
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is to deliver the keynote speech to delegates at the Financial Services Expo in Manchester next month.

FCA mortgages and mutuals manager Lynda Blackwell, a key voice behind the creation of the Mortgage Market Review (MMR), will deliver a speech at the Old Trafford cricket ground on Wednesday 21 May.

She will provide an update on the MMR implementation and look ahead to the impact of the EU mortgage credit directive for the UK market.

Representatives from Aldermore, Nationwide and Simplybiz will also take part in the seminar programme. Exhibitors including Accord, Leeds Building Society, Precise, Santander and Skipton Building Society will host stands at the event.

James Prosser, director of Front Events, commented: “Given the fact FSE Manchester is taking place less than a month after the introduction of the MMR we know how important it will be for advisers to hear from the regulator on the new environment and what they see as they key issues for our marketplace post-MMR.

“This is why we are delighted to announce Lynda Blackwell as our key note speaker at the exhibition on May 21 and I’m sure all attendees will relish the chance to hear from the FCA and put their thoughts and questions to her about the practicalities of working in this ‘new world’.”
