Countrywide announces board changes
Countrywide has made changes to its board, appointing Jane Lighting and Richard Adam as non-executive directors.

Lighting has spent her career in broadcast media, including the role of chief executive officer of Channel 5 Broadcasting for five years until 2008. She was formerly non-executive director of Paddy Power and is currently non-executive director and senior independent director of Trinity Mirror.

Both Lighting and Adam will be appointed non-executive directors with immediate effect.

In addition Adam will take up the role of chairman of the company’s audit and risk committee from 1 August 2014. Adam has been group finance director of Carillion since April 2007 and before then he was group finance director of Associated British Ports Holdings.

He is non-executive director of Wincanton and was previously non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of SSL International and Zattikka. Adam qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG Audit plc in 1982.

Sandra Turner has decided to step down as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Countrywide interim chair David Watson said: “I am delighted to welcome both Jane and Richard to the Board of Countrywide. Jane brings considerable experience with her, particularly in the commercial area and Richard brings significant technical expertise through his career in finance.

“I look forward to working with them and believe their experience will complement the skills of our current board. On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Sandra for her valuable contribution to Countrywide since the IPO.”
