EDM launches mobile document upload facility
Software firm EDM has launched a facility which allows brokers to upload documents using mobile devices to speed up the time it takes to process a mortgage application through to approval.

Brokers can use their smart phones or tablets to scan and upload client documents including client identification directly into a online customer case folder. Instead of completing a form to confirm the documents are authentic, brokers can use a tick-list to confirm sight of the originals.

Managing director Joe Pepper said the new service removed any uncertainty around whether documents were received by fax or email.

“Brokers are often out on the road and meeting customers in their homes so we have updated our service to make it easier for them to conduct their business and for mortgage providers to progress mortgage applications more quickly and efficiently. Our aim is to continue to develop our systems and services for mortgage lenders and brokers to help them deliver the very best service to customers.”

In January, Barclays became the first UK mortgage lender to accept photographs of mortgage application documents from brokers sent through mobile devices.
