Colin Snowdon appointed by Sainsbury’s Bank to investigate mortgage launch – exclusive
Mortgage industry veteran Colin Snowdon has been hired by Sainsbury's Bank to look at developing a mortgage range for the supermarket giant.

Snowdon (pictured) is known for his work as a specialist mortgage lender consultant.

He previously worked at Saffron Building Society as executive partner of mortgage strategy between August 2012 and May 2014 and Aldermore as chief executive, a position he left in November 2010.

A spokeswoman for Sainsburys Bank said: “We are constantly looking at ways to enhance our service, operations and products; offering mortgages is one of a number of options that we are investigating.

“Colin Snowdon is assisting us with this on a short term project basis.”

Further career highlights include five years as chief executive at Freedom Lending from January 2003 to October 2008 and managing director at Merrill Lynch from July 2006 to October 2008, according to his Linked In profile.

Snowdon was unavailable for comment.
